Problem Note 43889: The utility for changing the color scheme in the Program Editor does not work on Windows x64 operating systems
When you attempt to change the color scheme of the Program Editor, you might notice that the sample text in the tool does not change appropriately. As you exit from the tool, you might see error messages in your log similar to the ones shown below:
ERROR: Color (0) is out of range!
ERROR: Read Access Violation In Task [ pgm ]
Exception occurred at (08BB2938)
This behavior is seen only on Windows x64 operating systems.
You can alter the scheme using the SAS registry, as follows:
- From within SAS, select Solutions ► Accessories ► Registry Editor.
- Expand CORE, expand EDITOR, and expand SCHEMES.
- Expand the scheme that you would like to alter (for example, Default).
- In the left pane, double-click the screen element that you want to alter (for example, FORMATS).
- In the right pane, double-click the Color key. The Edit Strong Value dialog box appears.
- In the Value Data field, enter any of the following color values: Blue, Red, Green, Cyan, Pink, Yellow, White, Black, Magenta, Gray, Brown, Orange
- Click OK to save your changes.
